Melrose MCT Oil
MCT stands for Medium Chain Tryglycerides. MCT is a form of oil that can be rapidly converted into energy and is less likely to be stored as fat than regular oil. MCT oil is derived from coconut, it is easy to digest and provides an ideal energy boost before exercise. Athletes and sports people benifit the most from MCT oil - it can be used in cooking (not frying), added to a pretraining smoothie or used in salad dressings. MCT oil has been shown in test tubes to inhibit the growth of yeast and has antimicrobial properties.
MCT oil should be used with caution by those prone to diabetic ketosis. It is suitable for low carb and ketogenic diets and makes a fantastic massage oil.
Take one teaspoon per day and gradually increase to 1 to 3 dessertspoons per day. This product should be taken only with food since intake on an empty stomach can cause nausea.
MCT consists of food grade Caprylic (C8) 65% - 75% and Capric (C10) 25% - 35% acids with less than 0.5% C6 and less than 1% C12 esterified to pure glycerin
